This Privacy Policy applies to the FinMenty Mentor platform, accessible at finmenty-mentor.com and the FM Mentor mobile application (iOS).

2. Data We Collect
Account Information
- Name, email address, profile photo
- Professional background (desk, firm, years of experience)
- Authentication credentials (managed by Supabase)
Session Data
- Mentoring session details (date, time, duration, session type)
- Session messages and chat history
- Mentor feedback and notes
- Video call data (processed via Agora)
Financial Data
- Stripe Connect account details for payouts
- Session earnings and payment history
- We do not store full card numbers — payment processing is handled by Stripe
AI Avatar Data
- Interview questions you create for your AI avatar
- Voice recordings used to create your cloned voice (processed by ElevenLabs)
Device and Usage Data
- Push notification tokens (Expo)
- App usage logs and error reports
- Device type and operating system
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the FinMenty Mentor platform
- To process session bookings and facilitate mentor payouts
- To enable live video mentoring sessions
- To create and operate your AI avatar via voice synthesis
- To send push notifications about session requests and messages
- To improve the platform and fix issues
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the platform:
- Authentication and database infrastructure — Stores account data and manages secure authentication. Data stored on servers in the EU.
- Payment processor — Handles mentor payouts and payment processing via a connected account model. We do not store card or bank details.
- Video infrastructure provider — Powers real-time video and audio for mentoring sessions.
- AI voice synthesis provider — Processes voice recordings to create your cloned AI avatar voice.
- AI content generation provider — Powers question bank assistance and content generation features.
- Cloud hosting and notification provider — Hosts the platform and delivers push notifications to the mobile app.
Each provider operates under their own privacy policy and data processing terms. We only share data with these providers to the extent necessary to deliver the service.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, with row-level security (RLS) enforced at the database level. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We apply access controls to limit who can access personal data within our team.
6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active
- Session history is retained for 3 years for financial record-keeping
- Voice recordings for AI avatar are retained until you delete your avatar
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Portability — Request your data in a portable format (GDPR)
- Objection — Object to certain types of data processing

8. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the EU/EEA, we process your data on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance — To deliver the mentoring platform services
- Legitimate interests — To improve the platform and prevent fraud
- Legal obligation — To comply with financial and tax regulations
- Consent — For voice recordings used to create your AI avatar
9. Hong Kong (PDPO)
We comply with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong. Personal data is collected for specified and lawful purposes, retained only as long as necessary, and protected against unauthorised access. You have the right to access and correct your personal data held by us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
